The annual Balloon Festival is certainly the keynote event in Bristol. The fiesta takes place every August and attracts hundreds of thousands visitors from across England, Wales and abroad. The balloons ascend into the sky for four days every morning and evening, weather permitting. Ashton Court estate is the home of the event with lots of free entertainment organised throughout the day, however the balloons can watched from most parts of the city. Clifton Suspension bridge situated just across the river provides arguably the most stunning backdrop and is a very popular tourist attraction in its own right. It is a truly magic sense observing the balloons cross fly past the Avon gorge and iconic Brunel’s bridge.
